Troubleshooting a Car Air Conditioner

Hot/Cold Dial

Your vehicle air conditioner runs on the power of your engine. When you turn the fan on while the engine is not running, the battery runs the fan but it does not run the actual air conditioner. When you turn the vehicle on, the engine powers the compressor. The compressor compresses the coolant in the air conditioner unit. That causes it to heat up significantly. The hot refrigerant then passes into the expansion chamber where it expands rapidly. That rapid expansion causes it to cool dramatically. Air is then blown over the cooled coils to cool your vehicle. If you have a problem with your air conditioner, it’s in one of those stages.

Air Not Cool

If the air coming out of your air conditioner is not cool, you likely have a compressor problem. The first thing that you should do is check the level of refrigerant. If you don’t know how or don’t want to, you can just take it to an expert in car air conditioning in Bexhill-On-Sea. They will inspect your air conditioner for two different things. They’ll first check the refrigerant to see if you have an ample amount. If you do, they will check your compressor.

A/C Not Engaging

If your air conditioner is not engaging, it could be a compressor problem or a fan problem. Your expert will inspect it to determine what might be happening with your air conditioner unit. They will be able to help you get your air conditioner fixed in no time; you should call sooner rather than later.
